Mary of Medjugorje comes to save young man through apparition on the Internet!

I have heard many beautiful stories of Mary coming to a person and pulling them out of darkness in an instant, with her overwhelming embrace of love, and this is perhaps the most immediate conversion I’ve encountered. And, of all ways, it happened through the Internet!

The visionary Ivan and Cardinal Schönborn

Coming Home through the Intercession of Our Lady

Scurrying down the steps, I frantically found myself in search of my gym shoes, which I’d misplaced the night before. I was due at the gym in five minutes to meet friends for a Thursday evening workout. Yes, once again, I was running late. At that exact moment, my phone rang. It was my mother: “Did you get a chance to watch Ivan’s and Marija’s apparition yet?” she asked. Responding impatiently, I replied “No mom, I’m already late as it is. I’ll watch it when I get back.” Sitting down to tie my shoes, I suddenly stopped. Feeling drawn towards the webcast of the Medjugorje visionaries’ apparition, and guilty for being reluctant with my mother, I gave in. It was the evening of September the 23rd, 2010, and my life, as I knew it, was never going to be the same.

My senior picture at Bryan High School in Omaha, Nebraska, back in my "cool" days

Growing up I attended St. Bernadette Catholic grade school. Although tuition was expensive, the sacrifice my parents endured was worth the Catholic-based education my siblings and I received. Their sacrifice instilled in me a foundation I would newly discover later in life. When I was in grade school, we attended weekly Mass, including Sundays. After my eighth grade year, I decided to enroll in a public high school, solely for athletic reasons, and found myself going to Mass on Sundays only. And to be honest, the only reason I went is because my parents forced me and my twin brother to go; if I’d had it my way, I would have slept in until noon.

Life at this time was going as planned. I graduated from high school and entered my first year of college. College was exciting: new friends, new environment, living away from my parents. However, with this newly acquired freedom came the element of choice. I suddenly found myself choosing not to attend Mass. At this stage in my life, I became distant from God and the Catholic Church. I obtained a job working security at a downtown club and started traveling down a dead-end path. I found myself going home with various women whom I met at work. On several occasions, I ended up at strip-clubs until the early morning hours. With after-hour parties taking place weekly, there wasn’t a weekend when I was in bed sleeping before the sun came up. I would drive home intoxicated, past the church I used to attend, observing families arriving at morning Sunday Mass. The devil had me right where he wanted me, and I was only adding fuel to his fire. My life continued on this path for the next several years.

One evening my mother invited me to attend a speaking engagement at our local parish, where a man, having returned from the pilgrimage site of Medjugorje, gave a testimony of his recent trip to the small town located near Bosnia and Herzegovina. I reluctantly went, only because it would make my mother happy. As I sat there that night, I heard the man talk about a place where six visionaries were experiencing apparitions of Our Blessed Mother. I had no clue about Medjugorje, and to be completely honest, I didn’t care and wasn’t really paying attention. I couldn’t wait to get out of there.

Myself and one of God's greatest gifts to me, my twin brother. We were born on December the 8th, the feast day of Our Lady's Immaculate Conception

Time passed until last September, 2010. As a gift, my mother gave me a book that left a great impression on me. The book was titled, Queen of the Cosmos: Interviews with the Visionaries of Medjugorje. I took the book to work where it sat on my desk for several weeks, collecting dust. One day while sitting at work, with an hour or so to spare, and nothing else to do, I did something that would forever impact the depths of my soul. I opened the book and began to read. In this book, the visionaries shared how they saw the Virgin Mary, as I’ve never heard Her described, comparing Her beauty to beyond our comprehension. As I continued to read, I began to fall completely in love with the lady whom they were describing. After reading the book in just two days, I knew nothing but understood everything. This young, pure, loving, vibrant woman was my Mother, and I was Her son. I developed a passion and curiosity for the apparitions of Our Lady of Medjugorje, and this marked the beginning of what I call my miraculous conversion through her intercession.

A week after I’d read the Queen of the Cosmos book, my mother informed me that an apparition would be streamed live through the internet to various parts of the globe; and not only this, but according to the visionary Ivan, special graces would be granted to those witnessing the broadcast of the apparition, no matter where they were located. Although I felt somewhat reluctant to take time to observe the apparition, I was extremely excited to see the visionaries Ivan and Marija communicate with the Mother of God.

The visionaries Marija and Ivan at St. Stephen's Cathedral in Vienna for their September 23, 2010 apparition

The date was September 23, 2010, at St. Stephen’s Cathedral in Vienna. As I sat witnessing this live event on the Internet, I felt someone surround me with her presence, as though she had entered the room. I quickly looked up, expecting to see someone standing there. I didn’t see anyone, yet the person’s presence was becoming more and more intense. I describe it as if someone were standing with their face inches from yours, but you’re unable see anyone. At that moment, I felt a love that was not of this world, a love more pure that anything I’ve ever experienced. I was so overcome with the love radiating from this person in the room with me that I began to cry. In my humanity, I couldn’t comprehend the love that was being bestowed upon me. I could feel it radiating off of me. I compare it to someone running a high fever, being able to physically feel the heat emanating from his body. And I knew exactly who was in the room with me. I yelled out, “Mary!” “Mary!” “Mary!” while crying uncontrollably. My heart expanded like fire, “Mary!” I exclaimed. “Mary, I love you!” “I love you, Mary!” This love became so intense I put my hands over my face and continued crying. I asked aloud, “What’s happening to me?” “What is happening?” and cried, “Mary!” “Mary!” “Mary!” in between sobs. Finally, unable to stop my tears, I yelled out, “Show me yourself!” “Let me see you, Mary!” “Mary, please. I know you’re here. Please allow me to see you with my eyes!”

That night of September 23rd, 2010, I was twenty-four years old, still very young, and with my whole life ahead of me. However, after feeling the love of Mary, I was truly ready to die. I never saw her with my eyes, but I felt her with my whole being. Knowing that I could never receive that same love from anything or anyone here on Earth, I was ready to leave this world and go with Our Blessed Mother. It was a love so indescribable that at one point I cried out, “Mary, I’m ready to go. Mother, if you want to, take me with you, I’m ready.” And I meant this from the depths of my soul.

Growing up Catholic, I had received the Sacrament of Reconciliation many times, confessing my sins, not out of sorrow, but due to the fear of hell. As I sat wondering if my tears were ever going to cease, I realized that for the first time in my life, I was truly sorry for everything I’d done. I mean I was truly sorry from the bottom of my heart. I managed to pick my head up, and with tears streaming down my face, for the first time, I looked to God and said, “I’m sorry! I’m so sorry!” And I truly meant it.

After experiencing this miraculous conversion, I did one of the scariest things I’ve ever done in my life. I gave my yes to God; I gave Him complete control over my life. I figured I’d messed things up enough; and by turning the reigns over to Him, I couldn’t go wrong. Ever since giving God and Mother Mary my yes, I’ve been blessed with many gifts. Six months after my conversion, my mother and I flew to Sacramento, California, for a Medjugorje conference. To our surprise, the Medjugorje visionary, Marija, was present there. If you recall, Marija was one of the visionaries I observed at St. Stephen’s Cathedral in Vienna. At the conference, I was able to meet and receive a hug from Marija: an incredible gift from God and Our Blessed Mother!

My Mother and I at the 2011 Sacramento Marian Conference. Here I was able to meet and be present with Medjugorje visionary, Marija Pavlovic, during her apparition with Our Blessed Mother.

My life hasn’t been the same since the evening of September 23, 2010. I have taken Our Lady’s messages to heart: fasting, praying the rosary, receiving the sacraments. I also recently joined a Bible study on campus. I have to laugh because growing up I was always extremely close to my mother. God saw that I was slipping away from Him and knew exactly what to do. He sent His Mother to bring Me back to Him. There isn’t a day or hour that goes by when I’m not thinking about Mary. I love her so much, and I’m so happy to have her as my Mother. I recently heard a man quote a wonderful phrase that I knew directly related to me. He said, “When my time comes. When I die and leave this world and am standing in front of Jesus at Heaven’s gates, Jesus will look at me and say, “Oh yes, My Mother has told Me all about you.” I’m so thankful for Our Lady’s intercession. She saved my life and healed my soul, bringing me closer to Her Son. I can’t help but feel excited, as I sit in anticipation, wondering where this new found love will lead me next.

Visionary Mirjana, asks Medjugorje critics, “Why should I invent such a lie?”

In the early days of the Medjugorje apparitions. The visionary Mirjana is pictured in the middle.

In a new book by Kresimir Sego, called A Conversation with the Visionaries, (Medjugorje, 2011), Mirjana shares her pain over those who believe she and the other five Medjugorje visionaries have fabricated a hoax of seeing the Virgin Mary. “I feel sorry for those who continue to think and feel this way, who continuously wonder whether or not this all is true, while Our Lady is stretching out her hand to lead us to salvation. Why do you waste time?” Mirjana asks.

“I also often asked myself: Why should I invent such a lie? If I were lying, this would make me an abnormal person. Even during communism, the doctors stated that we were normal. I had a nice life, I lived with my parents as the only child for nine years; they cherished me. Why would I want to turn my life upside down, why bring turmoil, anxiety, agony and pain into my life – why? In my opinion, only an unstable person can do such a thing.”

After Mirjana began having apparitions of the Virgin Mary in the small town of Medjugorje, in the former Yugoslavia, the Communist authorities left Mirjana little peace in attempting to have her break down:

Mirjana today with a young pilgrim

“Every day I was taken away by officers of the Republic Secretariat of Internal Affairs. They interrogated and questioned me. They demanded that I write and sign a statement that Fr. Jozo Zovko (parish priest in Medjugorje by the time of the first apparition, ed.) fabricated the whole event which took place in Medjugorje.”

Medjugorje miracles: Man hears again! 532 documented healings, 643 vocations

An 87-year-old man from Italy, who had been using a hearing device since the 1970s, suddenly started to hear during a Mass at Medjugorje.

Domenico Mascheri says his wife still cannot understand that she does not have to shout anymore. It all happened at an outdoor service on September 27 of this year. During the Mass, he started to hear by himself after 40 years of being totally dependent on hearing devices. When he went to the Mass that evening, it was after two days of total silence, as the batteries in his hearing devices had run out, and he did not have spares. He had climbed Apparition Hill that day with the help of a wooden cane.

Domenico sat on the bench with a small group of pilgrims and about half-way through reciting the Ave Maria–he told reporters back at home–he started to hear the pastor’s voice, which slowly became stronger until he could hear everything. He began to cry, and did not even tell his companions.

Later that evening Domenico told everyone in the group what had happened. They spent the rest of the evening partying and praising God for the beauty of the miracle of Domenico. (Source: www.Medjugorjetoday.tv)

Medjugorje is a fountain of spiritual fruits for the world. As of October, 2011, Medjugorje parish archivist Marija Dugandzic has confirmed that 532 healings were medically documented; 520 men became priests, as a result of a visit; 123 women became nuns, as a result of a visit, and 540,000 visits were registred from Cardinals, Bishops, priests, and nuns. (Source: www. Medjugorjetoday.tv)

And it is likely that hundreds, if not thousands of  healings, vocations, and visits have gone unreported to the the Medjugorje parish. On this Thanksgiving Day, 2011, let us give praise and thanksgiving to God for Medjugorje.

Mary’s message to Ivan in the Vienna Cathedral, November 17th

The Medjugorje visionary, Ivan Dragicevic, received an apparition of the Virgin Mary, November 17th, 2011, during an evening of prayer at St. Stephen’s Cathedral in Vienna, with Cardinal Schönborn presiding at Mass. The beautiful event, with the church overflowing, can still be viewed on Mary TV.

Mary’s message that evening, as shared by the visionary Ivan:

Our Lady to came to us very happy. She greeted us with her motherly blessing of “Praised be Jesusm my dear children.” After this, she prayed especially for the priests with her hands extended. And then I recommended especially all the priests present here tonight.

After this, she prayed with her hands extended over all of us here. She blessed us with her motherly blessing and blessed all the religious articles that were brought to her to be blessed.

I then recommended this archdiocese, and his Eminence, the Cardinal. Then Gospa prayed in a very special way for this archdiocese and all of its needs. After this, I recommended all of you, your petitions, needs, and your families. After this, Our Lady prayed for all those present who are ill, and I recommended all the sick.

Then Our Lady said:

“Dear Children, today I call you to prayer. Especially when Satan desires war and hate, I call you again, my small children, to pray, pray, pray that God will give you peace. Offer peace to every heart and be carriers of peace in this faithless world. I am with you, and I pray before God for every one of you. And you, do not be afraid, because whoever prays has no fear of evil and has no hatred in the heart. Thank you, my dear children, for having responded to my call.”

After that, we prayed Our Father, Hail Mary, and Glory Be. Then Gospa continued to pray over all of us. She left in the sign of a lighted cross with the salutation, “Go in peace, my dear children.”

The most famous exorcist in the world, Fr. Gabriele Amorth, has harsh words for those who ignore Medjugorje

Father Gabriele Amorth is the leader of Rome’s six exorcists. He is also the most famous Catholic exorcist in the world. People come to see him from all round the world to ask for help in defeating satanic oppression, in other words, to combat the devil in all his various activities against mankind.

Now 86 [born in 1925], he belongs to the Society of St. Paul, the Congregation founded by James Alberione in 1914. Known for his intense activity in mass communication. Fr. Gabriele too, for many years, was involved in media, and edited the magazine, Mother of God. As well as a theology degree, Fr. Gabriele has graduated in law. Having written many books and essays about the Virgin Mary, he has acquired the title of expert in Mariology, has been nominated as a member of the Pontifical International Marian Academy. But since having been entrusted with the role of exorcist in the diocese of Rome, his time has been completely consumed by his new ministry. These days he is considered the world’s leading expert on problems concerning Satan and his evil activity towards the  human person. He is the “doctor” par excellence for illnesses caused by evil, the “surgeon” who knows how to root them out, fight, and prevent them.

In an interview Fr. Amorth granted to Renzo Allegri, which was published in “Messenger: St. Anthony,” amost a decade ago, he states:

“I would never have thought I’d be asked by the Church to carry out such a difficult mission. Ugo Poletti sent me the mandate when he was vicar of the diocese of Rome and President of the Italian Episcopal Conference (CEI). Luckily, at the beginning, I was the helper of one of the greatest exorcists that ever existed, Fr. Candido Amantini, a holy man whose cause for beatification is about to be opened. He was an exorcist in Rome for thirty-six years and was an incredible teacher.”

Renzo Allegri writes, “It is difficult to arrange a meeting with Fr. Amorth especially as he never has a moment free. For this interview he managed to spare a few hours one Thursday morning, but even during our conversation, he received telephone calls from people all over the world who were in need of him. ‘It is incredible,’ he says, ‘to see how many people look for an exorcist, and unfortunately there are few priests who are able to help them. For several centuries, the Church has overlooked the ministry of exorcism.'”

“He speaks with determination. His faith is unwavering, based on the Scripture and on the teachings of the Church. He reveals a deep knowledge of the subjects he discusses, extensive experience sustained by numerous case histories. ‘I think I must have carried out over 70,000 exorcisms in my lifetime. The problems I am called to deal with every day concern people who are suffering physically, psychologically and spiritually. These problems are caused by the Devil. At times they are so serious they lead a person to suicide or death. Faced with many priests who reveal themselves to be skeptical, indifferent, or who consider these problems to be the fruit of imagination or obsession, I get very angry. Contemporary religious culture, while not negating the existence of Satan and the other rebellious angels, is inclined to diminish their influence over people. Discrediting this influence is almost compulsory and is considered a sign of wisdom. This mentality, which is completely wrong, is commonplace not only among lay people, but also among priests, theologians and even bishops, the practical consequences of which are far-reaching.’”

For Fr. Amorth, the devil is very real. He told “La Repubblica” that the devil was “pure spirit, invisible. But he manifests himself with blasphemies and afflictions in the person he possesses. He can remain hidden, or speak in different languages, transform himself or appear to be agreeable. At times he makes fun of me.”

He said it sometimes took six or seven of his assistants to hold down a possessed person. Those possessed often yelled and screamed and spat out nails or pieces of glass, which he kept in a bag. “Anything can come out of their mouths – finger-length pieces of iron, but also rose petals.”

He  hoped every diocese would eventually have a resident exorcist. Under Church Canon Law any priest can perform exorcisms, but in practice they are carried out by a chosen few trained in the rites. He was among Vatican officials who warned that J. K. Rowling’s Harry Potter novels made a “false distinction between black and white magic.” He approves, however, of the 1973 film The Exorcist, which although “exaggerated,” offered a “substantially exact” picture of possession.”

Throughout the years, Fr. Amorth has embraced Medjugorje. He has called the place, “a great fortress against Satan.” The following is a September, 2011 interview on Radio Maria with Fr. Gabriele Amorth. Fr. Amorth was speaking before the backdrop of the Virgin Mary’s message of August 25, 2011, when she said:

“Dear children! Today I call you to pray and fast for my intentions, because Satan wants to destroy my plan. Here I began with this parish and invited the entire world. Many have responded, but there is an enormous number of those who do not want to hear or accept my call. Therefore, you who have said ‘yes’, be strong and resolute. Thank you for having responded to my call.”

“How bitter, how bitter was the last message of Our Lady of Medjugorje on August 25: ‘Many have responded, but there is an enormous number of those who do not want to hear or accept my call,'” Fr. Gabriele Amorth first commented.

“Now look here; it is very sour, this balance. After more than thirty years! More than thirty years! Now if it is the pagans who don’t listen to Our Lady’s words, then that I can understand. But be you a Christian, it is not forgivable. Be you a Christian!”

“Even priests and bishops don’t even want to hear about it. It is not that they went there and then made their decision fairly, after seeing things for themselves. No! They don’t even want to hear it being spoken about!”

“The Gospel is so clear. It tells us how to discern! By the fruits you will know the tree! It has been thirty years that Medjugorje has given us fruits that are ultimately exquisite! Confession, conversion, vocations, graces of every kind! For more than thirty years!” the exorcist reminded on Radio Maria.

“In the Old Testament, God sent prophets to warn of the betrayals of the Jewish people. Now, here to warn of the betrayal of the Christian people, also the priests, God sends us His Mother! It has been thirty years! Is it possible that people still do not hear? And as for those people who believe themselves to be intelligent by saying they’ll wait until the Church approves? They are fools!” said Fr. Gabriel Amorth.

A Muslim mystic foresaw Medjugorje!

Let us pray and fast, as never before, for the Medjugorje commission investigating the apparitions. A fascinating article posted on www.medugorjetoday.tv by Jakob Marschner, reveals how important your prayers and sacrifices may be.

Sufi mystic, Hasan Shushud, predicted Medjugorje in detail one year before the apparitions began.

“If Mary and her plans are accepted quickly, the suffering will be short-lived. If, however, Rome does not meet Mary with the needed firm, truthful acceptance when God grants to Rome the time and freedom to choose, then God once more will have offered peace, joy and love in vain, and mankind will feel the consequences of Satan’s plans,” said Hasan Shushud in 1980.

“We Sufis have realized that Mary gives messages solely when she appears within the frameworks of the Roman Catholic Church. Therefore, we Sufis have been praying for Rome for a long time. Because the answer that Rome gives to Mary will be a response which will be binding on behalf of all humanity.”

Muslim foresaw Medjugorje one year ahead

by on Oct 12, 2011

“If Mary and her plans are accepted quickly, the suffering will be short-lived,” Hasan Shushud said in 1980, about the present time. The renowned Sufi mystic wrote several books and had The Masters of Wisdom in Central Asia, published in English.

“Soon a unique Marian apparition will begin. A place for this was chosen long ago, and we Sufis have been praying that all will go well. The place is being prepared, without anyone being aware of it, for an apparition which will be different from all previous apparitions. Mary will come closer to the earth than ever before. Many will see her, hear her, touch her.”

According to Inger Jensen, an experienced Danish pilgrims leader who has visited Medjugorje more than 100 times, these were some of the words she heard when she visited the Muslim Sufi mystic Hasan Shushud in the Summer of 1980, one year before the apparitions began in Medjugorje.

Shushud also hit home when Inger Jensen heard him estimate where the apparition would take place:

“This place is situated west of Istanbul at a shorter distance from Istanbul than that between Istanbul and the eastern-most border of Turkey. It is in a geographical area with a nature and climate much like what we have in Turkey. But it is not in Turkey,” Shushud told Inger Jensen and her group.

The distance between Istanbul and Dogubeyazit, the eastern-most point in Turkey, is 1289 kilometers (801 miles). There are 955 kilometers (593 miles) from Istanbul to Mostar, the major city closest to Medjugorje from which it is 25 kilometers (15 miles) apart.

A long and decisive apparition predicted

[As a Medjugorje pilgrimage leader since 1985, Inger Jensen from Denmark has more than 100 pilgrimages under her belt. In 1980 she became a first-hand witness of Hasan Shushud’s prediction of the Virgin Mary’s apparitions in Medjugorje.]

With Medjugorje celebrating the 30th anniversary of the apparitions this year, Hasan Shushud’s prediction of a long apparition has also come true. So has his prediction that peace would be a main topic of the apparition:

“You will see that Mary will suffer, wait, hope and continue to call for a long time, as she is inviting to the way of peace. During this period Satan will get the opportunity for his plans of godlessness, chaos, suffering, death,” Hasan Shushud told Inger Jensen.

In recent years, the Virgin Mary’s suffering and waiting have been particularly expressed in messages passed on by visionary Mirjana Dragicevic-Soldo.

“Mary needs a firm, truthful “yes!” to her plan, and this will not be given at the beginning. Therefore, Mary will be forced to take up a stand-by position. During the period when Mary suffers rejection, earthquakes the like of which have never been seen before will occur. Storms more violent than ever. Thunderstorms. Flooding. Fatal, contagious diseases. And egoism, materialism and violence will pervert societies”, Hasan Shushud continued.

“If Mary and her plans are accepted quickly, the suffering will be short-lived. If, however, Rome does not meet Mary with the needed firm, truthful acceptance when God grants to Rome the time and freedom to choose, then God once more will have offered peace, joy and love in vain, and mankind will feel the consequences of Satan’s plans,” Inger Jensen recounts Hasan Shushud’s words from 1980.

Great responsibility entrusted to Rome

[Istanbul (in the middle) is closer to Medjugorje (around the “V” in Sarajevo) than to Turkey’s eastern-most border, as predicted by Hasan Shushud in 1980.]

While it might sound surprising that Shushud, a Muslim, kept pointing to the position of The Catholic Church as decisive for the fate of the coming all-important apparition, to Shushud himself, it was not anything controversial:

“We Sufis have realized that Mary gives messages solely when she appears within the frameworks of the Roman Catholic Church. Therefore, we Sufis have been praying for Rome for a long time. Because the answer that Rome gives to Mary will be a response which will be binding on behalf of all humanity.”

[Blessed Pope John Paul II was a firm believer in the apparitions in Medjugorje, but deciding the case did not fall under his pontificate.]

“Thus, we realize that God has entrusted the Roman Catholic Church with the great responsibility to accept Mary. A God-given authority to this Church means that a “no” to Mary is a “no” on behalf of all of us. Thereby, a door is closed. It also means that, if this Church accepts Mary in truth, humanity also accepts her. A door is then opened for the help God wants to give through Mary.”

“For this reason, we Sufis have constantly prayed for Rome,” Hasan Shushud said according to the Danish pilgrims leader.

Since March 17th 2010 a Vatican Commission led by Cardinal Camillo Ruini has investigated the events of Medjugorje, with the purpose of enabling the Pope to say either “yes” or “no.”

Inger Jensen has personally handed over her three-page written testimony of her meeting with Hasan Shushud to a high-ranking Cardinal, she tells Medjugorje Today.

Shushud’s words are matching Mary’s messages

As to the reason for the Virgin Mary’s coming, the words of Hasan Shushud closely match the Virgin Mary’s messages as they have been presented by the Medjugorje visionaries. Like the Virgin did to visionary Mirjana Dragicevic in 1982, two years earlier Shushud had stated that Satan had extended power in the 20th century:

In 1887 Pope Leo XIII had his famous vision when he saw Satan being given extended power over the 20th century. In 1982 a message to Mirjana confirmed the vision of the Pope. Hasan Shushud told Inger Jensen the same in 1980.

“Satan stood in front of God’s throne and asked for permission to make use of all his power, in order to try to tear humanity away from God. (…) God granted Satan one hundred years for his new plan. Thus, the 20th century is under Satan’s power,” Hasan Shushud said in an echo of the message to Mirjana – and of a similar vision given to Pope Leo XIII in 1887.

“At the beginning of this century Satan, first of all, worked on “teaching” people through psychologists and psychiatrists that he, Satan, does not exist, and that all that men previously considered to be evil was not evil, but just the result of a lack of development. As man grows more clever, as his intellect becomes more mature, during the ongoing development, he will automatically choose that which is good.”

“After a period Satan could work on his plan in a more free way because he could hide himself behind the lie that he does not exist, as though he stood behind a shield. Then he began to destroy the family and all inherited moral codes,” Hasan Shushud added.

“Satan wants to destroy the family. The family is in crisis. “Pray!” the Virgin Mary told Medjugorje visionary Ivanka Ivankovic-Elez on June 25th 1995. In the early days of the apparitions the Virgin also entrusted Ivanka with the special call to pray for the world’s families. Also visionary Ivan Dragicevic has oftentimes lamented the present moral state of the world.

[Hasan Shushud (right) engaging in a conversation by the end of his life.]

In 1980 Hasan Shushud continued:

“Now Satan has already been working for a long time to have humanity believe that God does not exist. He has been highly succesful in this. Observe the Jews: for so many centuries they have kept together around their religious practice, but now even they have become secularized. All over the planet people are losing faith in God.”

“Soon Satan will be seen out in the open. Children and youngsters will begin to play his games. Pictures of him will be visible in the streets. Also, during the next two decades, egoism, materialism and violence will increase more rapidly than you will be able to imagine,” the Sufi mystic said in words later echoed by the Virgin Mary in her message of September 25th 1991:

“Dear children! Today in a special way I invite you all to prayer and renunciation. For now as never before Satan wants to show the world his shameful face by which he wants to seduce as many people as possible onto the way of death and sin. Therefore, dear children, help my Immaculate Heart to triumph in the sinful world. I beseech all of you to offer prayers and sacrifices for my intentions so I can present them to God for what is most necessary. Forget your desires, dear children, and pray for what God desires and not for what you desire. Thank you for having responded to my call.”

Many individual calls and roles predicted

“Mary needs many soldiers for the battle. Each of them will be attracted to the place just in time. Each one is chosen for one little task. A detail which, when all the details are combined, will form a beautiful pattern,” Hasan Shushud said in 1980. A few years later the Virgin Mary mentioned the same theme in messages from Medjugorje where visionary Marija Pavlovic-Lunetti has also elaborated upon it.

Hasan Shushud affirmed the Virgin Mary’s leading role in bringing mankind back to God. And in predicting the Virgin Mary’s great numbers of individual calls with the purpose of combining millions of people into a heavenly mosaic or pattern, more of Hasan Shushud’s words from 1980 went on to appear in the Virgin Mary’s messages from Medjugorje.

“Mary will lead the battle against Satan and, co-operating with Archangel Michael, will lead mankind back to God. Mary needs many soldiers for the battle. Each of them will be attracted to the place just in time. Each one is chosen for one little task. A detail which, when all the details are combined, will form a beautiful pattern. These soldiers, most of them women, will be drawn from all over the world. From their earliest childhood they will have been prepared for “their” special little task, without them having been aware of it,” Hasan Shushud said in 1980.

“Dear children, behold, also today I want to call you to start living a new life as of today. Dear children, I want you to comprehend that God has chosen each one of you, in order to use you in a great plan for the salvation of mankind. You are not able to comprehend how great your role is in God’s design. Therefore, dear children, pray so that in prayer you may be able to comprehend what God’s plan is in your regard. I am with you in order that you may be able to bring it about in all its fullness. Thank you for having responded to my call,” the Virgin Mary said on January 25th 1987, in a message recognized by experts as a cornerstone within the Medjugorje corpus.

[Medjugorje when the apparitions began in 1981, one year after Hasan Shushud had prophesied them to be very close. “The place is being prepared, without anyone being aware of it, for an apparition which will be different from all previous apparitions,” he told Inger Jensen.]

“Dear children, I have been inviting you for years by these messages which I am giving you. Little children, by means of the messages I wish to make a very beautiful mosaic in your heart so I may be able to present each one of you to God like the original image,” the Virgin Mary said on November 25th 1989.

How the Virgin Mary’s messages, to themselves, constitute a heavenly mosaic that can be more fully perceived and understood only through prayer has been a recurring theme in interviews given by visionary Marija Pavlovic-Lunetti.

Seers echo call to fearlessness

In 1980 Hasan Shushud was as sure of God’s final victory through the Virgin Mary as the Medjugorje visionaries have been from the earliest days. And like the seers were later to do, Shushud also called to trust and fearlessness:

“Whatever happens, do not fear! In the end, God wins. The Bible says it, the Koran also. Those who keep close to God and to Mary will be given all the help they need. It does not matter which hardships they must go through: they have nothing to fear,” Hasan Shushud said according to Inger Jensen.

This closely mirrors visionary Mirjana Dragicevic-Soldo’s much repeated words that all people who live the Virgin Mary’s messages and see God as their Father and the Virgin Mary as their Mother have nothing to fear from the secrets that the Virgin Mary has entrusted to her.

Mirjana, for the 1st time in 30 years, speaks an urgent plea after apparition

Visionary Mirjana Soldo, standing in front of her home in Medjugorje. October, 2011

Mirjana collapsed in tears after the October 2nd apparition in Medjugorje. For the first time since the beginning of the apparitions, in 1981, she shared her own words to the world, preceding the Blessed Mother’s:

“I have never said anything before,” said Mirjana, “but are you aware, brothers, that the Mother of God was with us? Each of us should ask himself: ‘Are you worthy of this?’ I am saying this because it is difficult for me to see her in pain, because each of us is seeking a miracle, but does not want to work a miracle in himself.”

“Dear children!” said Mother Mary, in her message. “Also today my motherly heart calls you to prayer, to your personal relationship with God the Father, to the joy of prayer in Him. God the Father is not far away from you and He is not unknown to you. He revealed Himself to you through my Son and gave you Life that is my Son. Therefore, my children, do not give in to temptations that want to separate you from God the Father. Pray! Do not attempt to have families and societies without Him. Pray! Pray that your hearts may be flooded by the goodness which comes only from my Son, Who is sincere goodness. Only hearts filled with goodness can comprehend and accept God the Father. I will continue to lead you. In a special way I implore you not to judge your shepherds. My children, are you forgetting that God the Father called them? Pray! Thank you.”

My friend, Jane Lee, traveled to Medjugorje with Trinity Pilgrimages and stood hear Mirjana, during her October 2nd apparition. A couple in Jane’s group, who had been present at seven of Mirjana’s past apparitions, said this time, Mirjana’s face was different. See video above. Never before had she looked so distraught, to the point of collapsing in tears, when the apparition ended.

Jane shared in an email to me how the people on her pilgrimage responded to Mirjana’s reaction, and she recorded Mirjana’s personal words to them regarding why she gave the message.

Mirjana, her face full of pain, as she sees and converses with the Virgin Mary, during her apparition on October 2, 2011

“What struck us,” said Jane, “was how tragic Mirjana’s expression was right after the apparition was over. We knew that it was very very bad. Whatever she had heard, whatever she had experienced, was profound. Here’s the transcript of how we asked Mirjana about her historic and uncharacteristic supplementary message. Mirjana’s eyes became teary as she answered us.

Q: ‘After the apparition yesterday, you had a special message of your own for us can you explain what prompted you?’

A: (through Miki, the translator): ‘I don’t know what happened to me, ’cause I never did that.  After thirty years, that was the first time I said something. And it’s a little hard for me to talk about it. That is still kind of fresh. [tears in eyes] I’m sorry that people do not comprehend what is important. But people are looking for miracles and not what is the most important–miracle within oneself. To come to know the love of God. Because you waste your time. And the tears in Our Lady’s eyes [are] because of you. And how come you do not comprehend? And that pain that I was looking at her like that, I simply had to say something. Because she has so much love, patience. And we are so deaf.  That caused me so much pain I had to say something.'”

Fr. Jozo Zovko brought to testify before Vatican. Vicka interviewed as well.

Fr. Jozo Zofko

According to a good friend of Fr. Jozo, Olivia Kunza, who has known Fr. Jozo since her childhood in Croatia, and who now lives in Burbank, California, Fr. Jozo was interviewed this first week of October, 2011, by the Vatican commission investigating the Medjugorje apparitions. (This was verified by the Bosnian online newspaper, Otvoreno, which said that Vicka Ivankovic-Mijatovic became the second visionary to be questioned on that same day, October 6th–the first seer being Ivanka Ivankovic-Elez, who was interviewed in June.) Ms. Kunza, who now lives in Burbank, California, said of Fr. Jozo, “He was always the example of Jesus and who a priest should be.”

I, too, can attest to a couple brief moments in which I personally experienced Fr. Jozo’s holiness. On my first trip Medjugorje, in 2001, along with my husband, John, I was standing outside on the steps of St. Elisha Church, Siroki Brijeg, where Fr. Jozo used to speak to and pray over pilgrims. At the time, I didn’t know who Fr. Jozo was. Standing near us was a man in a Franciscan robe, who looked at my husband, smiled slightly and gently, and seemed to stare into his soul. He lifted up a fatherly hand, and in a gesture so masculine, and at the same time so carefully loving, he reached out and pat my husband on the cheeck. I cannot fully explain this, but of all the miracles I experienced on that pilgrimage, that one simple gesture and the knowing gaze of Fr. Jozo upon my husband, had the most profound and lasting effect on my heart and memory.

My son, Christian Watkins, in Medjugorje

Six years later, when my son Christian was eighteen months old, we traveled as a family to Medjugorje, and again found ourselves standing outside on the steps of St. Elisha Church. This time, I let my husband walk inside to hear Fr. Jozo’s talk, as I stayed outside with my son, who ran around the courtyard in a flurry of hyper activity. Nothing calmed him, and I missed the entire talk, because each time I tried to lure Christian quietly into the church, he attempted to run up and down the isles and succeeded in screaming out sentences known only to him. I gave up. At the end of Fr. Jozo’s talk, when people were receiving prayers from Fr. Jozo and other priests present, my son somehow ended up right in front of Fr. Jozo, who laid his hand on him briefly. In the blink of an eye, my son changed. He sat down quietly and peacefully, at the base of a stone pillar, and remained perfectly still for the next twenty minutes. With a rosary in his hand, he pulled it towards his sweet little lips and kissed the crucifix, over and over again, saying, “Jesus, Jesus, Jesus.”

The Blessed Mother, herself, told the visionaries that Fr. Jozo was a saint. Fr. Jozo also received a personal blessing and encouragement to protect and promote Medjugorje, from Pope John Paul II. (See below.) And Mary showed herself to him in one of the early Medjugorje apparitions. Any saint will receive persecution, and Fr. Jozo is not exempt. See the following webpage to note how his accusers have no merit: http://www.medjugorje-apologia.com/

Fr. Jozo’s power of the Holy Spirit, lies in his docile humility. His words below echo a soul docile to the promptings of his mother and his God.

“A priest is not born of an angel but of
a mother. He is chosen from amongst the
people, is anointed with the Sacrament of
Priesthood and returned back to the people,
to the Church – into their care, their prayer
and their love. The priest is a sign of the
omnipotence of our God. Pray for priests.
Love them. Support them. Help them to be
holy. We are weak and fragile. If your knees
are not bent in prayer for us, we stumble and fall. We need your prayer.”

A Letter From Pope John Paul II to Fr. Jozo Zovko

Saturday Evening, August 24, 2002
Zagreb Daily Newspaper,
“The Vercernji List”

Headline Reads:
“A Surprising Gesture From the Vatican. The Pope Thanks Father Jozo for Medjugorje!”

The cover photo was taken when the Holy Father welcomed Fr. Jozo in 1992, in the midst of the Bosnian war. At that time the Pope told him: “I am with you, protect Medjugorje! Protect Our Lady’s messages!”

Web site for “The Vercernji List”
http://www.vecernji-list.hr

The article in the paper shows Fr. Jozo at his desk, reading the Pope’s letter, with a caption to the left of the picture: “The Pope has signed a thank you note to Fr. Jozo Zovko.” A translation of the article from Croatian reads:
Siroki BrijegThe world renowned Franciscan, Fr. Jozo Zovko, was more than surprised when yesterday Polish pilgrims came to thank him for twenty-one years of testifying to the Medjugorje apparitions, and especially when they handed him a thank you note personally signed by the shaky hand of their best known compatriate, John Paul II. Actually, after coming back from Poland the Pope wrote from the Vatican to personally thank and send his apostolic blessing to Fr. Jozo Zovko.

‘Our Poland is grateful for your every word, for every thing that you have done for us’, said the Pope’s collaborator, Krystyna Gregorezyk, who personally handed the thank you note to Fr. Jozo in the Siroki Brijeg church.

‘So far I have received hundreds of gifts and thank you notes but none can compare with this one. I am most pleasantly surprised,’ a visibly shakened Fr. Jozo said for our paper.

Fr. Jozo Zovko is a member of the Hercegovinian Franciscan Province. As a witness to the Medjugorje apparitions, he has become one of the best known priests in the world. Many tribes have made him their chief and he is connected with many miraculous healings. According to a poll conducted by “The Daily Catholic”, Fr. Jozo has been elected among twenty-nine Catholics of the century.” (J.P.)

The Original Text in Italian:“Imparto di cuore una particolare Benedizione Apostolica a Padre Yozo Zovko, o.f.m. ed invoco nuova effusione di grazie e favori celesti e la continua protezione della Beata Vergine Maria”Joannes Paulus II English Translation:“I grant from the heart a particular blessing to Father Jozo Zovko, o.f.m. and I invoke a new outpouring of graces and heavenly favors, and the continuous protection of the Blessed Virgin Mary”.Joannes Paulus II.

By Denis and Cathly Nolan [from 2002]:

Now, according to what Krystyna Gregorezyk reported when she presented the message, the letter was written this month in Rome right after the Pope’s return from Poland. Krystyna, who works as a collaborator of the Holy Father in the Vatican, had breakfast with him and several other Polish people before they left for Medjugorje. The Pope signed the letter in front of Mrs. Gregorezyk.

It seems therefore that the words reported in the Newspaper, Vercernji List, are real. In a verbal message to Fr. Jozo, conveyed by Krystyna, the Pope also said that he is thankful for his apostolate for Medjugorje, for what Fr. Jozo is doing and has done so far. The pope said he was happy to give him a sign of support.

What did Fr.Jozo do for the Polish people if not spread the Medjugorje messages to them?

Krystyna said that the Pope was very joyful during this breakfast and asked many questions about Medjugorje. He was also happy to hear the testimonies about Medjugorje that the Polish pilgrims reported to him.

Of course, more enquiry should be made about this incredible event. However, today it seems that this is the first written personal word of encouragement, from the Pope, made public by the media, to a witness of Medjugorje. This simple letter stands as a tangible and visible document in support of the Holy Father’s heartfelt thanks and encouragement that he sent to Fr. Jozo through Krystyna.

All are encouraged to spread this news – that the Holy Father has sent such a heartfelt blessing to this champion for Medjguorje and Our Lady’s apparitions!

Medjugorje messages were given to Reagan and Gorbachev

Featured on Marytv.tv is former Ambassador Kingon’s video testimony on giving the messages of Medjugorje to Reagan and Gorbachev. Watch the testimony at http://www.marytv.tv/, (scroll down the featured videos to see “Alfred Kingon’s Testimony), and read the fascinating write ups below:

Visionary Marija Pavlovic Writes a Letter to the President of the United States

Dear President Reagan,

Medjuogorje visionary Marija Pavlovic-Lunetti

The Blessed Mother appears every day in this small village of Medjugorje in Yugoslavia. She sends us a message of peace. We know that you do your best to improve the peace in the world, and we remember you every day in our prayers. We want you to know that you can count on our prayers and sacrifices. In this way, we want to help you in your difficult task. Our Holy Mother said that with prayers and fasting, even wars can be avoided. May this message help you and Mary’s daily appearances be a sign to you also, that God loves His people. United in prayer, in the hearts of Jesus and Mary (The Queen of Peace), we express to you our love, and greet you with Peace.

Marija Pavlovic

Marija received a picture of President Reagan on Christmas Day, 1987, with this message: “To Marija Pavlovic—with my heartfelt thanks and every good wish. God Bless You. Sincerely, Ronald Reagan.”

Marija’s letter arrived just prior to his meeting with Mikhail Gorbachev at the December Nuclear Arms Summit in Washington, D.C. The letter was carried by the American Ambassador to Middle Europe, Alfred H. Kingon, who was on a two-week pilgrimage to Medjugorje to pray and fast for his sick son. He personally delivered the message to the White House. On December 8, 1987, the Ambassador called Marija from the White House to tell her that Mr. Reagan was delighted with the message and that after he had finished reading it, exclaimed, “Now, with a new spirit, I am going to the meeting with Mr. Gorbachev.” Later the same night, the White House tried to contact Marija, but could not get through. Mr. Kingon sent a letter to Marija to encourage her to also send a letter of peace to Mr. Gorbachev.

February, 1988, from pp. 56-57 of The Best of “The Spirit of Medjugorje,” Volume 1, pp.  by June Klins

Gorbachev, it turns out, had been presented a synopsis of the Medjugorje messages by Ambassador Alfred Kingon of the U.S., who also briefed President Ronald Reagan on the apparitions after visiting the pilgrimage site. Michael Brown also commented on the event, at the time:

Reagan and Gorbachev were secretly briefed on Medjugorje

@Spirit Daily

The news that former President Ronald Reagan broke his hip and was operated on over the weekend brought to mind his connection — never revealed to the general public — to the famous apparition site of Medjugorje, where the Virgin Mary has been appearing since 1981.

Alfred H. Kingon served as the US Ambassador to the European Union from 1987-1989. Prior to this, he occupied a number of key positions in Ronald Reagan's administration, including Assistant to the President and Secretary of the Cabinet from 1985-1987, Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for Policy Planning and Communications in 1984 and Assistant Secretary of Commerce for International Economic Policy in 1983.

The connection came about because of Alfred Kingon, Reagan’s ambassador to the European Communities and a former assistant secretary of the Treasury who visited the village in 1987 and though he was raised in a home that was Jewish and Christian Scientist, became convinced of the apparitions. In fact so impressed was Kingon that he sent Reagan a personal two-and-a-half page summary.

And Kingon told us that Reagan responded so favorably that he even had his secretary try to contact one of the seers, Marija Pavlovic (but unfortunately in those days telephone lines to the village were tenuous and Reagan never reached her).

Soon after Ambassador Kingon sent a similar report to Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev. Kingon told Spirit Daily he reduced thirty-nine pages of Mary’s messages to a one-page memorandum, with Austrians helping in the translation.

Then another ambassador, Jack Matlock, guided the document to the Soviet leader.

“There was no answer from Gorbachev, but it was indicated that he got it,” said Kingon, who strongly believes there is “something of great import going on” at Medjugorje. He told us he senses that in some fashion “the whole world is going to change.”

Another major official, Margaret Heckler, former Massachusetts congresswoman who served in Reagan’s Cabinet and was ambassador to Ireland, has also visited Medjugorje and says that she has seen the metal links in three of her rosaries mysteriously turn gold.

According to an organization called Medjugorje USA, the State Department has hundreds of pages of documents about Medjugorje — where in the early 1980s the Virgin came warning about the situation in the world. Postscript: when he retired Reagan was said to have placed a statue of Our Blessed Mother in his California office.
