Medjugorje messages for October 25 and November 2, 2010

On the 2nd of each month, Our Lady appears to the Medjugorje visionary Mirjana, to give us her message to the world. Below is the latest official English translation as provided by the Information Center in Medjugorje.

Message of November 2, 2010:

“Dear children, with motherly perseverance and love I am bringing you the light of life to destroy the darkness of death in you. Do not reject me, my children. Stop and look within yourselves and see how sinful you are. Be aware of your sins and pray for forgiveness. My children, you do not desire to accept that you are weak and little, but you can be strong and great by doing God’s will. Give me your cleansed hearts that I may illuminate them with the light of life, my Son. Thank you.”

When I converted to Catholicism, after having gotten lost in the New Age movement, God showed me His immense love for me, and then he hit me over the head with a divine frying pan. He laid my serious sins bare for me to see–without excuses, without hiding, without anesthesia or bandaids. I could no longer hide under denial or ignorance and think there was nothing wrong with me or my behavior. In this message above, the line that stands out for me, which can strike the soul hard, is: “Stop and look within yourselves and see how sinful you are.” If that line cracks us open, then we have truly been blessed, because the ability to see our own sins goes hand in hand with the ability to grow towards God.

On the 25th of each month, Our Lady appears to the Medjugorje visionary Marija to give us her message to the world. Below is the latest official English translation as provided by the Information Center in Medjugorje.

Message of October 25, 2010:

“Dear children! May this time be a time of prayer for you. My call, little children, desires to be for you a call to decide to follow the way of conversion; therefore, pray and seek the intercession of all the saints. May they be for you an example, an incentive and a joy towards eternal life. Thank you for having responded to my call.”

Mary is asking us to pray and work on our own conversion. And, indeed, working on our own conversions is WORK. Without paying attention to our daily prayer life, our actions, our words, our thoughts, our plans, throughout the day, we cannot hope to be a better person tomorrow than we were yesterday. I find it interesting that Mary is telling us to seek the intercession of ALL the saints. Only God knows how many there are! I’d never thought of bothering them all. But why not? Let’s call on the multitudes, and every human being in heaven will assist us.

I just finished the book Full of Grace, and now I can’t think of anything better than going to Medjugorje myself! It’s not financially possible right now, but someday! I also found in this month’s message from Mary very encouraging. The fact that we can ask ALL the saints to pray for us! I need all the help I can get in this journey of conversion!
